Calculate the number of moles of HCl if the molality of the HCl solution (m=1000g) is 1mol/kg.
First I calculated this way (using the mass of the solution):
1mol(HCl):(1000+36.5)g=x:1000g x=0.965mol, wrong answer.
Why?

I'm not sure I understand the question - are you supposed to calculate the number of moles in one kilogram of a one molal solution, or are you supposed to calculate the molarity of a one molal solution?

Never mind, I found out that it is the right answer.
