Hi All,

During an electrolysis of an aqueous solution of a cerium salt, 35 g of cerium (Atomic mass: 140) is deposited at the cathode by 1 mole of electrons. What is the formula of the cerium ion? Please kindly explain.

Can you write an balanced equation for the formation of cerium metal from its ion?
