Substitution and Elimination
« on: May 16, 2012, 02:37:24 AM »
hi, i have some problem here.

1)this is elimination. if i have some secondary halide, and then react with NaOEt, what will the reaction occur? E1 or E2?

2)this is substitution. if i have secondary halide too, and then react with NaOH,MeOH.
what is the product? with -OMe or -OH?

thanks :)

1)i'm searching from google and i didn't get it. i opened solomon and there isn't. would you explain that?
2)this problem is my latest exam, and i want to know the correct one. there's given some structure containing secondary halide, and react with NaOH MeOH. this problem ask me to determine the product if substitution occur.
