what is sodium 3-oxo-phenylbutanoate?

can anyone tell me what sodium 3-oxo-phenylbutanoate is or give me a break down of it, or even just tell me what phenylbutanoate is used for?

Its structure is shown in the attached picture.
I would guess that it is used as an intermediate in industrial synthesis, pharmaceuticals or agrochemicals.
Development Chemists do it on Scale, Research Chemists just do it!

I drew it from the name you gave.
But I don't really know what it's used for. As I said it's probably an intermediate in some process in the Pharma or Agro industry judging by the number of Chinese manufacturers who provide it.
