We are planning to conduct a research on corrosion inhibition of some local plants here in our country.
We have reviewed several related literatures and we have seen that acid media used were of 0.5 M to 5 M concentrations (low conc'ns). In connection to this, when we have submitted our research proposal, our research instructor suggested the use of available most concentrated acids. Would that be possible? Thank you very much.

Yes these are obtainable from any chemical supplier, 37% hydrochloric acid, 96% sulphuric acid, Oleum, Nitric acid (I forget the exact highest concentration), Phosphoric acid, etc.

Corrosion isn't linked only to pH! It's a subtle process, partially understood, which depends essentially on the properties (adherent, permeable...) of the intermediate products.

For instance, chloride ions are devastating to most stainless steel compositions, even if not under acidic conditions, like in sea water.

Don't forget neither to note the condition of the materials you test. Typically a weld seam, due to its heat treatment history, has a very different resistance to corrosion than the plain alloy.
