Mud chemistry
« on: July 27, 2012, 07:41:21 PM »
Hello to everyone!
We have a black therapeutic mud here in our region. It possess the typical hydrogen sulphide odor. The place is in a safe environment near the sea, faraway from buildings and human actions.
We decided to analyze the mud. We did ICP-MSpectometry.
Everything looks o.k. and typical for this kind of materials. But we found among others high concentrations of both Sr and Mn (between 1000 - 1200 ppm).(The famous Dead Sea mud have about 800ppm Sr and about 300ppm Mn). Is this a problem? Are there any health risks from Sr or Mn in these concentrations?
Of course the mud is used only on the surface of human body.
Thank you,
Nature Boy
