Deriving the conjugate acid from a given base
«

Hello, I am a little confused...
If I am given a base, how do I know what its conjugate acid is?
For example I was given:
ClO2 -
Br-
OH-
CO3 2-
CHO2 -
I have no clue on how to derive the conjugate acid from this.
Thank you

Can you define "conjugate acid"?

Although this is an extremely "dumbed down" response, what do most acids donate to solution? Acids contain what element/atom?
