Quantum yield

i did the calculations and found out the Quantum yield of free chlorine decomposed in a solution under the sun without cyanuric acid
i got an value of 1.15x10^13 ... does it sounds right ?>??
and what does Quantum yield tell us ??

That's not necessary, tommygun:, and it won't help.  Your question is incomplete -- the value you give has no units, and you didn't tell us what you started with.  Also, if you want to know the definitions of terms, you should Google that, and then ask specific questions about what you don't understand. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_yield
