Question to a reaction...
« on: October 11, 2012, 02:20:30 PM »
Hello,

I have got the following problem, hopefully you can help me.

I got piperazine. With an N-alkylation medium it should react to form diethyl piperazine.
Now the hydroxide of diethyl piperazine (is it C8H20N2(OH)2 ?) is heated.
There must be two ways of reaction (the task says it):
A: product is mixed - a liquid and a gaseous compound (the gaseous compound: density=1,064kg/m3 , 1,013hPA, temperature 25°C)
B: a single product

I don´t really have an idea...  :-\
