Help to Balance the Reaction
« on: October 26, 2012, 11:17:38 PM »
Hi all,i need help for the question below.

Balance the reaction in which phenol(C6H6O) is oxidized to form carbon dioxide by dichromate ion (Cr2O7^2-), which itself is reduced to form chromium hydroxide solids Cr(OH)3.

Please also show the steps on how to balance this reaction. Thank you :)

Not an easy problem. Try to at least write a skeletal equation.
