Hi, I'm doing a problem in my Kinetics homework where I have to apply the equation for collision flux:
Zw = p/sqrt(2pi*m*k*T)
For cadmium, to get "m", I assumed that dividing the molar mass of cadmium by avogadro's number would give you m, the mass of a cadium atom. The solution manual, however, does something different. It replaces m by: M (g/mol) * 1.6605 * 10^-27 (kg)
I understand that this number is the dalton, or u, but I don't understand why they do it this way and why my method is incorrect. Any clarification is appreciated.
