Hello everybody, I am new here and I am not really sure if this post even belongs here.
Greetings, that's the second time you've written that. You can stop now. Pick a sub-forum according to your knowledge of the topic, and use that one. Or rely on the MODS to move it for you. That's detailed in the Forum Rules, in red, at the top of the page. You should have read that before you started, and definitely by you second posting.
I am in a group that wants to manufacture a product that will measures alcohol in breathing.
Really? You want to manufacture Breathalyzer kits, of the sort police typically use, and that any person can even buy at the drugstore for personal use?
We are looking for a substance that reacts to alcohol vapor, preferably by changing its color.
My question is: is there such a substance that is not toxic and relatively accessible?
Did you try Google for the identity of the typical chemical that's used? The topic has come up in these boards before, did you try a search on this forum first? Did you find out what that chemical is? What was it? More importantly, is this substance non-toxic and accessible? What I mean to say is -- how non-toxic, and how accessible do you mean? Sold in supermarkets? Safe for small children to play with? What exactly do you mean here?
Thanks a lot!
