I am currently working on a research paper in chemistry about some of the chemicals used in LCDs. Specificly, i am researching twisted nematic displays. I have not been able to find out why the TN crystals are naturally twisted. If someone could give me a link to a site, or write an answer out themselves, i would be very gratefull.

If you cannot find out why specificly TN molecules are natually twisted, a generaly explanation of why chains of molecules are twisted (meaning not specificly Twisted Nemated molecules) would be greatly appreciated.
