Why cant i find the hydration energy of CO
3
anywhere? I am trying to explain why chloride salts are soluble and carbonate salts are not really soluble. I know that solubility depends on how exothermic the hydration enthalpies are of the ions compared to the lattice energy of the compound. But i cant find hydration energy of carbonate ion to compare. Plz help.

Well you need to look up solids that contain carbonate, not just carbonate ion. There should be many salts you can find on the internet. If still having trouble, the handbook of chemistry and physics will likely have information
