Really depends on what you mean by "salt". Purely ionic solids made of simple elements don't dissolve in organic compounds. Period. But an organic acid or base, neutralized by another, can be called a "salt", and might dissolve.
Dex: you spent quite a while gradually building random basic facts that you didn't know to start with, that re pretty much basic undergraduate chemistry, all built around some application you have involving stearic acid. Can you try and give us an explicit explanation of what your application is, what you need it to do, and why you can't seem to get there?
