Enantioselective Synthesis of Melohenine B
« on: April 05, 2013, 03:27:54 PM »
I have been assigned the task of proposing a enantioselective synthesis of Melohenine B starting from a simple acyclic or monocyclic commercially available material composed of reagents which are also commercially available. I have looked into other synthesis to get some ideas on where to start but I just cannot decide. Do any fellow organic chemists have any suggestions?

Below is the proposed synthesis which I have been told to look at.

You must show you have attempted the question, this is a Forum Rule.

Have you tried disconnecting the indole?
