Oleic Acid degradation at room temperature
« on: May 16, 2013, 07:09:25 AM »
Hi Guys,

Does anyone know the rate at which oleic acid degrades at room temperature?

I have been using a MALDI-TOF for instrumental analysis.
I am interested in to what extent does it degrade over a period of a day with respect to [M+H]+ m/z 283.2 and the dehydrated form at m/z 265 and the didehydrated form at m/z 247.

If you could report back in terms of percentage intensity (fresh and aged for a day) that would be great but all responses are welcome.

Cheers in advance  :)
