help with figuring out the number of stereoisomers

How many stereoisomers do 1,2- and 1,3-cyclobutanedicarboxylic acid have? I'm guessing that there's only one cis-isomer for each; however, I'm not sure how many trans-isomers there are--they seem superimposable, but according to a quick search, they're not...? I'm really having trouble visualizing them. :(

I'm really having trouble visualizing them. :(

The only way to really overcome difficulties in visualisation is to make models.
