Fractional Recrystallization

Can anyone help me in understanding the difference between fractional recrystalyzation and recrystallization?

With fractional crystallization you recrystallize once, take your crystals and crystallize them again, and repeat until your product is pure.

You need to do this when a single recrystallization doesn't give you the purity you want.
