Hello,

I am searching for commercially available compounds with a solubility in the range of 60-90uM in pH 7.4 buffer with 1% DMSO. I post in the hopes that some of you with experience in aqueous solubility assays have come across such compounds; one potential candidate I have found through Cyprotex's website is Griseofulvin.

Thanks

Can you be more specific?

If you are doing turbidimetric work, you're usually looking for light scattered at 90 degrees from incident radiation.  This is usually suspended particles, not
soluble materials.

Are you looking for soluble materials?

Thank you.

In the solubility range I am looking for, a compound may be considered insoluble by general standards (over 100uM can be considered soluble for a drug compound in pH 7.4 buffer), however for some studies it is still important to know to what degree the compound dissolves if it is below that value, and the degree I am looking for is a solubility between 60-90uM.

The list of compounds I have now found by looking through online literature is:
Griseofulvin
Phenytoin
Mianserin
Indomethacin

OK.  From a quick look at those compounds (very quick), they all have chromophores that
should absorb in the UV.

Would it be better to use UV/vis over turbidity?

In the Kinetic solubility assay for which I intend to use these compounds I measure with UV spec, at 280nm.
