turbidity measurement

Can anyone know different between measure turbidity using turbidimeter and Uv-spectrometer?
I found different result of turbidity by using different device.

Don't think a Uv-spectrometer measures turbidity. Maybe you could sort of hack it to.

You could use a UV spectrophotometer to perform turbidity assays.

A turbidimeter is just a single purpose spectrophotomenter. The one in our lab is hard wired for wavelength, turbity calibration and result output.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

JGK, do you ever try to compare result with turbidimeter? I had different value almost double figure.

Ever wondered why a turbidimeter sample bottle is cylindrical?

Turbidity is much easier to measure by the scattering of light. In a normal UV/Vis the detector is in line with the light source, in a turbidimeter it is at an angle to it. In a UV absorbance has no units, in tubidity the units are Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTU) usually.

It is possible to measure in a normal UV / Vis but your results will be different so it needs to be calibrated differently.
