Conversion of butylscopolamine to scopolamine

There's a research paper investigating the use of the drug Buscopan for recreational purposes. Butylscopolamine(the active ingredient in Buscopan) doesn't cross the blood-brain barrier but exposed to heat it converts to Scopolamine(about 1% of it). Some possible conversion mechanism are discussed in this paper.

What would be a good and reliable method for converting butylscopolamine to scopolamine?

The Forum rules explicitly say the discussion of drug synthesis is forbidden:
"don't discuss drugs nor explosives synthesis or preparation"
So I fear you will not get many responses to your question except from the moderation.
