Why are the ionic compounds irregular in shape and why are Covalent compounds regular ?

They are not.

They are not.

It is much easier to talk about a shape in a case of covalent compounds, as ionic compounds don't have well defined molecules that you could point to - in solution ions are separated and freely moving, in crystal their positions are locked, but it is hard to show a single molecule.
