How many grams will crystalize form 150 g of saturated aq solution of NH4NO3 by cooling from 100C to 20C.?
Solubility at 100C is 871g/100g H2O and at 20C its 192/100g
In 100g of water I can dissolve 871 g NH4NO3 so total mass is 971g at 100C
in 150g of solution I have (150/971)*871= 134,56 g of NH4NO3 and 15,44 g of water
AT 20C I can dissolve 192g in 100g of H2O.
When having only 15,44 g of H2O I can dissolve only (15/100)*192 = 29,68 g of NH4NO3
And by substracting those 2 numbers I get 104,88 g NH4NO3
But the book says only 35,5g Im not sure where I did the mistake. thanks for help
