The pascal triangle will tell you how many sates are available. If you write out rows 0-6, the number of terms in the row will equal the number of states. Also, each term will tell you the number of microstates (W) that will give that certain macrostate (I believe).
Heres a pascal triangle to look at:

1=0) and a state corresponding with the addition of one particle in the E
2 level (seven in all, I believe). So, if E
2 = 1J, there be a state 0J, 1J, 2J...all the way up to all sic particles being in E
2 at 6J.
