That would make it difficult to make up new rules on the fly.

Some comments about rules.
Where is the rule posted not to do cross posts? I know that many will be tempted to cross post thinking that each forum has separate members. How do you let other people know what is posted in one place may be of interest to others that do not routinely answer questions in that forum. For instance I routinely look at all post below the inorganic forum. This is because it is hard for me to keep up with all of the posts. I do not know how some of you can keep up with it all.

When someone posts a question that is too broad to answer on this forum I will respond with the below statement followed by the best sites I know. Anyone who wants to do the same feel free to use my statement.
