Extent of Hydrolysis
« on: March 20, 2014, 02:51:06 PM »
This is a general question. In the reaction A- + H2O ----- HA + OH- how would find the extent of hydrolysis? Would divide the equilibrium concentration of OH- by the original concentration of A-, or would you divide the amount of A- reacted by the original concentration of A-? I know that it's one of those two, I'm just confused about which one. Thanks!
