cyanide ions are poisonous because they complex with Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions in haemoglobin and in enzymes. the equilibrium is: Fe3+ + 6CN <--->[Fe(CN)6]-3
write an expression for the equilibrium constant Kc and calculate a value for Kc if the concentration were found to be
Fe3+= 1*10^-6 CN- = 3*10^-6 [Fe(CN)6]3- = 1*10mol dm^-3
Aswer: T he equation for Kc is: Kc=[Fe(CN)6 3-] / [Fe3+][CN-]^6
so Kc= [1*10^-8] / [1*10^-6][3*10^-6]^6
= 1.37*10^31
can someone please tell me if it is right?? thanks a lot
