Type of UCO for Biodiesel
« on: April 01, 2014, 08:48:15 PM »
** UCO = used cooking oil

Dear Chemists,

I am in the process of producing my own biodiesel, hopefully I can make it commercialize within my vicinity.
My questions are:

1. To produce biodiesel, do I have to check on the quality of the UCO, whether it is ok to process for biodiesel, or any UCO regardless it is still new or "expired" / "aged" type ?

2. If there is only certain UCO that can be used to produce UCO, is there any lab test for me to perform?

Thanks a lot!

Even though we might answer each question, It would be better if you did some self education.

And got plenty of hits
