im so lost...i need to design a nuclear chemistry experiment for a lab for my class...any ideas? i dont know where to start.....it could even be like a factor affecting an equation

I don't know what level you teach but I know of a fun high school level lab. It is called finding the halflife of candium. You give the studentents bags of M&Ms and you have them shake it then dump the M&Ms on a paper towel. They can then eat the ones that have the "M" side up. They repeat this until all of the M&Ms are gone. They will record the number of half lives (i.e.-number of trials)and how many M&Ms are left over. Make sure that they get the initial amount (at 0 half lives. They can then graph the results to show the relationship between time and amount of substance. Hope this helps

If you have the means to do it, then it may be a good way to show radiation. This is more of a demonstration than a lab though.

Yes I agree it would be much more delicious with M&M's
We do the coin one simply because food and drink is prohibited in our labs etc.

I suggest going on a field trip to the nearest picnic table to do this lab with M&Ms.
