Help With Iodine Clock Reaction Lab...
« on: July 04, 2014, 03:50:52 AM »
Hi! I have a couple questions about how calculation concentrations (I DO NOT WANT ANSWERS, JUST A PLAN AS TO HOW ABOUT I SHOULD ATTEMPT TO SOLVE)

Some info…
I am given Volume of KIO3 (ml): 10.0, 9.0, 7.0, 5.0, 3.0
I am given Volumbe of H2O (ml): 0.0, 1.0, 3.0, 5.0, 7.0

I also have the time for these reactions

The questions I need help with are:

1. Calculate the [KIO3] after the initial dilution (the original [KIO3] was 0.020M

2. Calculate the [KIO3] in the final mixture for each of the dilutions. Solution A and Solution B each had a volume of 10.0mL prior to mixing.

How abouts would I go to solve each question?

I figured something like: initial concentration x initial volume/final volume

What would be the initial volume? What would be the final volume?

I apologize if the answer is right in front of me but I really do need the help…

Thank you :)

If you mix 9 mL of KIO3 solution with 1 mL of H2O solution, what is the volume you get?

And that's the final volume.

And that's the final volume.

Thanks :)
