Venturi-bath low-vac pumps
«

Hi all,
I've got some money to spend on lo-vac pumps (we have no house vac at my college) and I was considering buying a few of these:
http://www.certifiedmtp.com/lab-companion-ve-11-electric-aspirator-pump/
I've used some kind of circulating-bath pump like this before, but I can't remember whether they were this brand or Cole-Parmer (which are more expensive). Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks! Sorry for not posting in awhile, been running summer research.

I don't know the answer to your question, but if you find one you like, please let me know. We often need to remove water and toluene in my lab, and I am not satisfied that we are pulling a strong enough vacuum to keep our bath temperatures low.

The Venturi pumps are going strong and suffice to remove ethyl acetate, hexane, and methanol. Toluene comes off too albeit taking a bit longer - I don't use it enough as a solvent in rotovap to be 100% sure of that one. We did wind up buying the below model.

Do you mean the Certified Lab Companion model?
