Dimethylformamide
« on: July 28, 2014, 05:17:27 AM »
We are developing a sonic cleaning process for Graphene, we will be using Dimethylformamide as the organic solvent.

Our question is: what is ratio of ionised water to Dimethylformamide?

Your help would be most welcome.

You mean like the traces of water in bottle? It should be on the bottle

We are assuming that the DMF has to be diluted with water for our application?

If so, what ratio of water / DMF would be appropriate?

If you've found a reference for the procedure, in a journal article or the like, then you can begin by following the procedure.  You can also experiment, trying various mixtures to see if they work.  I don't know about graphene, or its cleaning, with DMF or otherwise.  You also haven't mentioned how clean you need it to be, and how you'll know its clean enough.  These are things we need to know.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
