new problem with the Atomic Absorption Spetrometer
« on: September 02, 2014, 09:48:36 AM »
We can't work with the instrument at all. We was going to work with a Palladium lamp, then we received the follwing error message: "Peak search problem". We looked for energy levels and it was at 0%, for both, HCL and D2 lamp. (PMT: 316V)
We tried the lamp alignment and got nothing, no sound, no movement... (PMT: #### V, I never seen this before). We tried to scan and still nothing happens, just a message: "time out. switch off the instrument and PC and switch on again in proper order". In the end, we "can turn off" the lamp in the PC, but in fact the lamp still turned on.

Anyone knows anything about this problem?

Why don't you ask the technical support?
ChemBuddy chemical calculators - stoichiometry, pH, concentration, buffer preparation, titrations.info

Also, if you're hoping for personal insights (as opposed to working with tech support) you will have to tell us manufacturer, make and model.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.

I tried technical support but I had no answer, yet... and I'm trying to avoid the assistance visit (to reduce costs).

You're right, the instrument we use it's an Analytik Jena novAA350.

Thank you both!

Could it be a fuse?

Could it be any problem about PMT?

What do you think?
