Question regarding endpoint in Potentiometric titration
« on: November 04, 2014, 11:51:59 PM »
Hello,

so I need to exactly determine my end point via Potentiometric titration

My volume was around 24.00mL and the potential was around 189 mV, then when I added 0.49mL of titrant only for the potential to drop to -40 mV at volume 24.49mL

my question is, is 189mV at 24mL my end point or -40mV ?

You should register a little bit more of the curve to see what is happening, and then decide what potential reflects the end point (it may require estimating values between recorded points).

If the change in potential is that fast, you are definitely close to the end point. How close is something that can't be answered yet.
