Labeling
« on: November 11, 2014, 06:58:18 PM »
I'm supposed to determine labeling patterns of glycophorin A (after membrane impermeable labeling reagent added) to erythrocytes initially leaky but then sealed and put in soln not containing labeling reagent. Answer says labeling pattern would be intercellular only. Why would there be no extra cellular (bound to membrane and such)?

Do you mean "intercellular" or "intracellular?"

I don't understand what the difference is between intercellular and extracellular.  Maybe posting the question and more of the answer would help.

Meaning would the labeled substance be found inside the cell or outside cell given the situation. The answer is inside cell and I don't know why
