Titration
« on: February 05, 2015, 03:26:28 AM »
Hi there!
Please explain to me where this titration factor 0.16 came from to determine the % concentration of caustic solution ?
 Method:
Receiving flask: 50 ml application solution
Titration solution: 0.5 n HCI
Indicator: Phenolphthalein
Titration factor: 0.16
Volume added in ml x 0.16 = %

These "factors" published protocols give us are based on stoiciometry, molecular mass, concentration and possibly other things.  If you need to figure out the meaning, then you need to describe the problem in that way.  So, try to find a more specific example.
