Hi,

We are trying to determine bromine levels in a swimming pool sample.
 
Firstly, is anybody aware of any quantification tests for bromine?

Secondly, we have measured bromate levels and have found these to be quite high. We have tried adding sodium thiosulfate but this seems to have no effect on the bromate levels, should we expect it to remove bromate?

Finally, as bromine is oxidised to bromate would I be right in saying that if bromate levels are high then the free bromine level is relatively low?
