Hi,
Iam looking into water treatment formulations and have a question about borax. when you dissolve it in DI water you get a pH of 9.3. However, literature says that is buffers around 8 pH. what does this mean?
thanks!

Can you explain what a buffer is in terms of a conjugate acid and a conjugate base?
