Calcium carbonate reactions with acid
« on: July 07, 2015, 03:15:13 PM »
I am looking for the chemical reactions of
Calcium carbonate + mono sodium citrate
and
Calcium carbonate + malic acid

I am mostly interested in the reaction by-products as these materials may be used in food grade polymers.  Thank you

Reactions of all carbonates with acids are quite similar.

I know sodium citrate and malic acid can be both used in food, but can they really react with calcium carbonate?
