Spectroscopy Help
« on: July 15, 2015, 11:26:20 AM »
Hello,

I have been trying to solve this problem but have had absolutely no luck. Any help is appreciated. THANK YOU.

I have calculated the formula to be C12H2ON2O

However, my structure do not match the CNMR.

1) you need to show at least some attempts to receive help. (forum rule)

2) I might suggest that you start by calculating the degree of saturation of your compound
DoU=(2C+2+N−X−H)/2
(for more info http://chemwiki.ucdavis.edu/Organic_Chemistry/Hydrocarbons/Alkenes/Properties_of_Alkenes/Degree_of_Unsaturation)
that will tell you how many double/triple bonds or rings are present.

I have gotten very close to the structure, however I am still off. Any help interpreting the HETCOR or other graphs is appreciated. Thank you in advance!
