Synthesis of Barium Acetylacetonate

Hello Guys,
I am wanted to prepare Barium acetylacetonate as it is very costly and i couldn't found any literature on it. I have Barium chloride and acetylacetone and mixing them at room temperature is giving me no result, can somebody help me here.

What's your definition of "very costly"? It would const me 2€/g (for 100 g) to buy. I don't think I'd bother making it myself.

BaCl2 + 2Acetylacetone :lequil: Ba(acac)2 + 2HCl will lie very far to the left - consider the pKa of acetylacetone compared to HCl.

I don't know how this compound is made, but if you think about pKa, you should be able to propose a Ba compound that should react with acetylacetone. Any ideas?

Not everybody has 200.- € to buy 100g.

I would take the Bareiumhydroxide or Carbonate.
