What font does Chemicalforums use?
« on: August 18, 2015, 06:08:00 AM »
Hello everybody!

I like the font used in the threads at Chemicalforums but couldn't find which one it is: arial, tahoma and verdana look less distinct. So what is its name then?

Thank you!

This will depend a lot on your particular settings. Looking through the css the main body text is specified as Verdana, Helvetica, and sans-serif in that order (so if you already have Verdana in use the site will use that, if not it will fall back to Helvetica, and failing that what ever you have defined as your sans-serif font.

While css suggests what font to use, exact font is the one chosen by your browser, so there is no guarantee you see the same font others see.

I can just try to set the font in this message to compare. Let's go:
This line is supposed to display with arial.
That line would be displayed with verdana as far as possible.
That line would be displayed with the website's default.
Now it's trebuchet MS, who knows.

Seems to be verdana indeed. Nice choice, and widely available too.
