IP address for Chemicalforums?
« on: August 18, 2015, 06:23:55 AM »
Hi!

Several times recently, logging in worked imperfectly at many websites over few days and my mobile phone discharged within a day of inactivity.

As a partial answer, I'd like to replace the names of the websites I ilke by their IP address, like:
http://www.chemicalforums.com/index.php becoming
http://123.456.789.012/index.php

What would be the IP address to Chemicalforums then?

Thank you!

The IP address format you used did not work in my browser.

Also, I do not know if it applies here but, IP addresses can be reassigned whereas the URL should remain the same. URL should reconcile to the current address.

The exact numbers Enthalpy has used will not work as they need to be in the range 0-255.

At the moment it is 66.185.26.147

Pretty easy to check - many dns lookup services on the web.

I had read 66.185.26.147 too through several sites, and this hasn't changed for months, but neither
http://66.185.26.147/index.php
nor http://66.185.26.147/
work for me.

(123.456 was just meant as an example)

IP is reasonably stable - as far as I remember we use the same IP since the last server move several years ago.

Trick is, site uses shared IP, not a dedicated one, which is why just a naked IP is not enough to visit the forum. I don't know exact details of how the system works, chances are there is no direct, external address, which doesn't use the domain name.

So is there a means to use 66.185.26.147, possibly with a complement to the address?

It happened again 2 days ago that all forums and mailbox answered "wrong password" to me at the first attempt. This time I tried to reload the first page that prompted the pass, which I believe is forged in order to steal my pass, and that first page repeatedly refused my (correct) pass. Only the (apparently identical) page that popped up for the second attempt worked.

Again, my cell phone discharged far too quickly on the same day. It's supposedly misused to hear in my house, a usual misuse of cell phones.

My understanding is that a French governmental agency sends - without any legal reason for that -  forged password-asking pages, and these pages need the complicity of the DNS servers when I type "chemicalforums.com". For my elementary and legal right to privacy, I want to bypass the DNS server and land at the authentic site.

Thank you!
