Some J values in 1H NMR
« on: October 24, 2015, 04:11:32 PM »
Greetings!

I am trying to solve a 1H NMR spectrum of a known compound, i.e. assigning the peaks and calculating coupling values. I have here a picture of a signal

So, it definitely is a quintet, which makes sense as the C-atom in question is surrounded by two CH2 atoms. I should therefore obtain two J-values, but I am having trouble confirming picking the points as the signal is faint and I do not observe splitting. How do you recommend I approach?

Thanks for the clarification!
