I was wondering how you would go about synthesizing Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in the lab ? (non-Biosynthetically).
Please give your opinions, and link any previous works on the matter if you'd like.
Thank you

It is a forum rule that you must show your attempt before we can help you. Fortunately, there are reasons to synthesize ATP chemically, which means that methods exist.

I am curious if you ask as an academic exercise, or for practical reasons. ATP is not expensive to buy---it's about $20/gram, and I can't see me (for one) making it for less that. Hell, you can buy it on amazon (
http://www.amazon.com/Adenosine-5-triphosphate-disodium-salt-trihydrate-Gram/dp/B00I31ZBSO
). Adenosine is even cheaper, and that 5' phosphorylation is well known. Otherwise, make a purine, make a ribose; couple; add a phosphate. This chemistry is extremely well studied. Do you want to discuss specifics?

One reason to make it is to add O-18 or other isotopic labels.
