Does anyone know why must the solution be kept below 80 degree celsius during the precipitation stage. I mean, when I add NH4OH to a solution that contains: water distiller, NiO, and HCl 1:1. What if the temperature is 100ÂșC or more. Thanks.

Do you know of anything significant about the temperature you've quoted -- 100 C? WHy did you pick that particular temperature>

You perform reaction in water solution. Does temperature over 100 C is easily obtained? Your procedure is optimized for good precipitation of Ni(DMG)
