monoprotic, diprotic and triprotic acid
« on: April 13, 2016, 05:03:47 AM »
So I'm supposed to calculate the final equations for monoprotic, diprotic and triprotic acid and make a graph at the end. But graph doesn't matter right now. I started with monoprotic and I'm stuck. Analytical chemistry is not my strong suit. My attempt is in attachments. Thank you.

What is "a final equation of a diprotic acid"?

I'm sorry, I don't know. Professor told me I'm supposed to get six equations in the end. I'm guessing two for each.

And thank you AWK, I'll check it out.

Could it be he's looking for one equation for the monoprotic, two for the di and three for the triprotic?

Yes, that would make more sense  =)

Can you quote the problem exactly as it was worded? What you wrote so far doesn't make sense.

I have to derive the equations for these acids with autoprotolysis of water.

I came up with this, everything is pretty much good except I'm missing one member. You'll see it at the end of the third picture in the end. I don't know what I'm missing. Oh, and this is for diprotic acid.
