I know this will be a very strange question and I have been looking all over for an answer. Ran across this place by mistake actually, but here goes... Does anyone know if a dead body, submerged in a body of water high in Mercury, can actually absorb the mercury? :o

To some extent for sure - but note that marcury is not soluble in water, so we can speak mostly about mercury salts here.
