The Look Around You table of Transitional Elements
« on: May 26, 2006, 07:22:47 PM »
Did anyone else see this programme (Look around you)?

Spoof 80s educational science videos, the first series was excellent. It featured a particularly entertaining periodic table...  http://users.ox.ac.uk/~some1599/Images/LAYtransitionalelements.jpg

I observe there are nonsensical elements in this spoof periodic table, well-hidden among the real ones. LOL.

That was funny, good link.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.

There isn't a single real element. Names might be right, but check out the placing and Z/mass. I'm putting this next to the real perioidic table in the lab.
Chemists do it periodically on table.

the first 6 results on this page http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=look+around+you are episodes from the first series. Sulphur is good.

Never heard about "Look Around You", but I like it :) Sadly there are only a few episodes.
